That's a beauty! Congrats on the new addition. Throw in all the details, now; you can't leave us hanging. We need to know about bells and whistles.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

This gun has the extended grip frame that Jack does -- makes the plow handle viable in heavy recoiling calibers like the .500 JRH. You scored, my friend! Can't wait to fondle and shoot it!

Not sure if I'll forget something but here goes. It has a 4 1/2" octagon barrel, ruger redhawk rear sight, new fluted cylinder, extended grip frame, new grips, trigger work, hard chromed exterior, and a few other odds and ends. Everytime I see the picture of it I just get all

Sure is a beauty; makes me miss my shorty .500 WE. How does the JRH compare to the Wyoming Express for ballistics?

Very nice looking gun Cottonstalk, hope you whack a bear with it. Don't be letting Whithworth handle it, you might not get it back.

The JRH was actually originally done for FA before they went with the WE. The nice thing is you can either get Starline JRH brass or cut back 500 S&W brass so your not at the mercy of FA for components. You can also use standard S&W dies.

The 500 S&W dies will resize and seat the bullet but I wasn't able to get the S&W dies to crimp the 500JRH - the case isn't long enough.

New RCBS Dies are marked as 500 S&W/Special and they will work for the JRH.

Had a chance to shoot cottonstalk's new revolver last Friday, and all I can say is WOW!! What a slick piece it is! Accurate, balanced, beautiful. Love the extended grip frame and I think I like it more than an unmodified Bisley -- awesome grip frame! Here is a photo of the gun with my .500 Maximum so that you can compare the grip frames. Keep in mind that my Bisley isn't standard either and has been modified to give the shooter a little more room between their knuckle and the trigger guard. Here is a photo of cottonstalk getting ready to squeeze one of:

We went throught the alot of ammo, from 440s @ 950,350s in the 1400+ ball park,370s and 440s @ 1350.Probably shot close to 50 rounds and I was still ready to shoot more but ammo was running thin. I was impressed at how well this grip frame handled recoil, and how accurate all these loads were.Handloads,Buffalo Bore, and Grizzly ammo all performed well within hunting accuracy, and none were tailored loads to this piece. Can't wail to see what comes from a little time at the bench.
The blue bisley of whits handled well and shoots amazing but you definately know when the powder burns. I think I found my recoil cieling.

Cotton, beautiful gun! One question about the photo of you shooting it. Wheres your hard hat?? The grip frame makes it infinitely controllable even with hot loads. It was pleasant to shoot with everything we put through it. The trick is to start the shooting session with the .50 Alaskan or the Maximum and everything else afterwards is "mild."
