tracker, are there any successful bear guides in AR still? Many yrs ago I was corresponding with a fella down there but have since long lost the information I'd obtained. Being from MO it would sure be a convenient trip.

Good luck to you all who are hunting bear this year!

I'm hunting bears right now although I've not been able to get out as much as I like. I'll also be hunting this fall here in OR and there are three primary ways to do it. Drive and glass clear cuts to spot and stalk, still hunting, and calling. I've been using all three.

Spring spot and stalk hunt out west sounds like it would be fun. I second that, good luck Rod.

If I get drawn, Black bears in Minnesota, Over bait. Gotta draw some more blood with the FA 454 casull

Leaving today, spot & stalk. I've never used dogs or bait although its legal in most of the state. My 5 shot 480 Bisley is leading the way.

WY season opened yesterday, I was out most of the day.:) I like to hunt baits, but much of the area I hunt is shut down to baiting because of the grizzlies. So spot and stalk is my usual way of hunting

I'm using my FA 454 and my Savage Striker in 260

If I can find the time I may head up north. Haven't hunted bears in a while.

Rod, too.

Ill be crusing the inlet beaches, when the salmon start to run, looking for blackies on the shores. spot and stalk longer shots with a FA83, .454 scoped. Then well hike up the smaller rivers, and streams with open sights and go for some up close and personal work. probably spend a few days and fill my tags.

Mine is coastal brownies with one of my revolvers, as of now it would have to be my camo 500 Linebaugh and then inland grizzlies with one of my big bore Encores which would probably be one of the 458's

I can't wait till the fall. I'm going to Petersberg Aalaska in two weeks for fat Blackie. Gunna try and bloody up the .480 again, while looking through a J Point this time.

For me it's from now until November here in Alaska if I'm not in town. If I'm hunting it will be the 480 SRH. If I'm just hiking it will be the 4&5/8 BH in 45 Colt.

That 4 5/8 blackhawk is my all around favorite. I started with a 4 5/8 SS blackhawk frame, had a bisley grip, trigger and hammer installed, and used the unfluted cylinder from a .45LC hunter. with a free spin pawl, action and trigger, gold bead front sight. It is a magical set up Its the most comfortable, portable gun that i own.
