How many of you also have a rifle matched to your handgun calibre?

Used to have a Winchrster 94 in 44 mag with my Ruger SBH. It prompted me to carry the carbine into the woods far to often. I had confidence issues with my handgun skills so I sold the carbine and bought a Contender. Havent used a rifle since.

I have several lever guns but right now the only that match are a Rossi 92 in 45LC. I did have a 45-70BFR and I have two Marlins in 45-70

I have carbines in: 22 LR, 22 Mag, 22 Hornet, 22-K Hornet, 22 Jet, 25-20 WCF, 256 WCF, 30M1 carbine, 32-20 WCF, 32 H&R, 38 Spl. /357 Mag, 41 Mag, 44-40 WCF, 44 Mag, 454 Casull, 460 S&W, 500 S&W. They are all a blast to shoot.

cfish2, Marlin listed in their catalog but never made a 480R carbine; however, Rossi made them for a short period.

I've never understood the point. Cowboy action shooting?

Rod, too.

fun to use your favorite pistol caliber where pistols aren't allowed and my rossi 92 is a heckuva home defense rifle.

Yes - have a 6.5x284 bolt action rifle, and awaiting an XP-100 build in the same.

I have a 7-08 in both bolt action rifle and Encore pistol.

I have .223's in both AR and XP-100's.

I have 6.5 Grendels in both AR and Encore pistol format.

I have a 300 Blackout AR and a 300 Whisper Contender pistol.

And I wouldn't be opposed to some straight-walled calibers in lever actions to compliment my revolvers...but then again, I have a gun problem

I use to but what “I” found out is that I had two sets of dies and two different loads for the same caliber. I would have done better buying different calibers for the start. This is JMHO

FA 83 in 454 and a Puma in the same. To the gent who asked why, it is simple for me. Being that I put a curved metal butt plate on my Puma, and being that full house 454 loads with said butt plate are enough to make a grown man cry, it ensures I always have a stash of medium loads for my 454. And given that those are better for my wrist anyway in my FA, my Puma is part of my health insurance policy ;^)

And everyone has a 22LR combo, right??????

Hand: Naa mini, ruger MKII, Heritage RR

Hand: Naa mini, Heritage RR
Long: Henry (oct barrel, sweeet gun, get one if you haven't yet)

.223
Hand: Kel-tek plr-16 (a hoot to shoot)
Long: Ruger mini-14

.38/357
Hand: s/w 637 (.38 only), s/w 520 .357

Smater of fact, outside of shotguns, I dont' have a long gun that I can't shoot the ammo out of a hand gun. I do have a bunch of handgun rounds without long guns to match: .17hmr, .380, 9mm, .270, .45c, .454

And forgot another combo - Rem 700 .243, and a recently acquired Weatherby CFP in the same...it's bad when the new purchases are forgotten, huh?

I just wondered. I would like to get away from rifle hunting... except for those really long shots or where I need really big gun at longer than 200 yard distances.

SC, I forgot I had rifles. Oops to many guns. I have my BFR 45-70 and a Marlin 45-70. I have a 223 barrel for the contender and a half dozen ARs in every configuration, And of course several 22 pistols and several 22 rifles. Oh and does an AK pistol and an Ak count?

Okay, y'all with doubles! Can you shoot the same load through both configurations with satisfactory results, or is it like Duane said and that you need to load differently for each? If you need to load them differently it would seem to moot the point, IMHO.

My 45-70 MArlin and BFR will shoot darn near equal to one another using any and all loads. They both shoot the lever evolution round very well and my handloads. The 223 I don't know yet as I just got the barrel and haven't had it to the range.

I bet it would be possible to have a marlin 1895 chambered in 45-70 to be rechambered to 480 ruger because the parent case of the 475 linebaugh and the 480 ruger is the 45-70 case so I suppose its quite possible just a matter of finding a smith to do it.
