They are posted & I didn't get my moose permit.

Can you buy a preference point toward next year's drawing?
If you think preparedness is expensive, try 'winging' it.

Can you buy a preference point toward next year's drawing? If you apply and are unsuccessful you automaticly get a preference point. Guess I will have to see what the Encore will do on elk. The bison list should be out soon.

WyoJoe, how many moose points do you have and still unsuccessful? I've been buying points and am curious how far out I am.
Also, I can't remember who asked about when to buy points, but I think its July 1 to Sept. 30. Not 100%, but close.
Good luck on the elk though.

This was my first time applying for moose. So now I only have the one point.

Pythonhunter, your dates are correct.
Moose and sheep unsuccessful applicants receive PP's, though those applying for deer, elk and pronghorn must purchase a PP in WY.

Sorry to hear of all the bad luck, guys. My antelope hunters all drew; we have been 100% for 26 straight years; over 375 hunters. Although it seems unbelievable, there were 1283 Type 1 (either sex) licenses left over AFTER the 2012 drawing.
This is because the unit we apply for is almost 100% private lands; and people are less willing to want to pay for hunting access.
