Tyler, compare your boar to alot of others. You got a nice one. A good way to judge this is to compare the length and size of your gun to the boar.

Thanks guys. Shot was very close. Close enough that i should have comensated for the height of the scope over the bore. First shot was low by that amount. Going for a high shoulder ended up with high lungs. Just about went over at the shot. Put another one in him going away. That entered left hip came out behind right front leg, about four feet of pig! That one went through the heart. Sent a third down range as he was trying to keep going but missed. First one would have done it but they had a female bison in there that attacks woumded pigs. Wish we could have got the one on video. She came over and kicked the crap out on one of the guys pigs. Load was a .429 cast performance 255 at between 1100-1200 fps

Oh and these were not full russians but had good cutters and should eat better. Weight was around 375

gun is a 1989 29-4 smith hunter with 8 3/8" barrel. scope is older m8 2x luepy load is 21 gr of 110 and the 255 cast performance wide nose non gas check bullet

Great hog, Tyler. I have trapped 21 hogs in the last 3 weeks but none came close to that size.

I took this Russian in Vermont in '08 while hunting with my eldest son. Weight was around 275 lbs. If you look close in the pic you can just see the S&W .44 Mountain Gun in the chest holster.   Steve
