Had some range time yesterday and today with my ole friend. Its a fourteen inch 30/30 ackley improved. Yesterday I was developing loads for playing with the 125 nosler ballistic tip. The load of choice for those is 38.6 grains of varget . Five shots go 7/8" off the bench.

Today was hunting load development with the 130 grain Barnes tsx boattail. Started out at 37.2 grains of varget and worked up to 39 grains. Worst group went 1.5 inches and best group went 3/4". Had ten loads, three shot 1.5" groups, two shot 3/4" groups and the rest hovered around one inch. All groups were five shots. Had one load that had four fire formed pieces of brass and one regular 30/30 brass, the four went 9/16" with the fifth causing that group to be 1 and 3/8". I just love this handgun.

I would as well.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Had to sell this gun a little over a year ago, got it back but none of my previous load info was returned. Starting over again but its fun.
