The pic isn’t great, it was a throw together last minuet event, we didn’t have any shooting tables, targets were coke cans,… BUT, he was all smiles! This was my oldest son’s first time out shooting. After Church Sunday evening we went over to Toby’s house and shot in his back pasture at the new berm he had set up. The setup is my 14in G2 Contender in 22 Short Match. His first shot toppled a can and he was hooked. The boy went through about 50 rounds and obliterated the coke cans we had set up at 50 yards. I want to say he was hitting the coke cans 75% of the time at 50 yards with the scope on 2 power.... My only problem now is going to be keeping my 22 “MY” 22… I am going to keep working with him this summer and see how he does.

I'm sure dad was just as thrilled as the little guy.

Thanks gents, he is already wanting to go back out!
Ps, He begged to wear the wooden knife… He takes it with him every time we go fishing, camping, or walking in the woods!
He is doing better with my handgun with scope than a rifle with iron sights. He just isn’t big enough to handle the rolling block rifle yet. He thinks the TC is just his size… LOL

That is simply fantastic. My daughters probably shot a Handgun for about 5 years or so before she was ever comfortable shooting a Rifle. When my youngest daughter was a senior in high school she shot her first deer with my 14" .30-30 AI Contender at about 200 yards.
I am quite sure your son will never forget that day nor will you.

The first gun my daughter ever shot when she was about 4 or 5 was a Single Six and she also shot handguns for a while before rifles. Unfortunately right now my daughter is in her early teens so hunting and shooting are taking a back seat as she has lost interest and would rather go to the make up aisle than sporting goods anymore, even though I won't let her wear make up yet.

TC, LOL, I lost my raging bull 480 "MY" raging bull 480 to my son last year. Looks like I may be losing a few moreas well. Enjoy it it goes by darn quick. My daughter just graduated from High School 2 saturdays ago. She still hunts with me. I don't look forward at all to her leaving home. Hey by the way how is the leg coming along? Whats the latest?

Thanks my friends. I have plenty of TC's to go around for all three of my boys... LOL
Leg is doing better. You don't no how much my friends on this sight have helped. All I can say is thanks...
I go back the 28 and hopefully I can start putting weight on it. After I start walking it is a minimum of 2 weeks before I can start running again, well at least jogging... LOL I will see my 12min 1.5 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
