I have used blue dot with my 44 mags , 357 and my 460. The powder works, but I prefer powders that meter better.

I've tried Blue Dot in my 44mag but got inconsistent results. It doesn't burn as cleanly as H-110.

I have had groups larger than normal....and it doesn't meter very well.

I did have one gun years ago that shot pretty good with Blue Dot. It was a 5" S&W Model 629 Classic and I was shooting 240gr. Remington Jacketed Hollow Points. A buddy shoots Blue Dot in his Ruger Bisley with 225gr. Speer 3/4 Jacket Semi Wadcutter Hollow Points with good results.

Truth be known I always had better results with Blue Dot in the .357 Magnum and +P Loads in the .45 ACP.

I had a SBH with 5.5 inch barrel that it performed very well with using 200 gr cast bullets.
