This is the only way to fly. A friend of mine bought a .475 BFR and he is sending it to me to see how I like it. He says it shoots great. Now if I can sneak one past my wife........

You can imagine then when I tried to explain to her why I needed 57 deer rifles, 5 elephant guns, lost count of handguns, 4 turkey guns not counting varmit and antiques..... She didn't find it that amusing. reflex264

my excuse has always been, "I didn't have one" but I've mellowed out since starting the business since tooling eats up every extra dollar.

Gene Hill had a great solution. You bring them into the house wrapped in a towel and tell her that it belongs to a friend that is on vacation. Leave it on the coffee table for a week. One evening you make a comment to her "you know I should probably oil it down since he isn't back yet". You oil it down and leave it on the table for another week. Then one evenng you come in and make a show of being tired of looking at it on the coffee table. You tell her you are going to cram it in the safe until he comes to get it. If you make it to the safe you are home free. reflex264

Ha, try that around this house and the War Department will tell you flat out - "get that x&*# off my coffee table" and she won't care where you put it, as long as it's not on HER furniture or in HER kitchen.
I explain things pretty simply - there's women’s tools such as vacuum cleaners, mobs, towels, sinks, dishwashers etc and then there's men tools such as drills, hammers, guns etc - so when entering the home and being challenged as to what I'm bring in - I just reply a man's tool after which I just keep on truckin' for safety sake.

LOL...
If I leave something like that lying around my house my lovely Wife might ask if that is "her" new play toy? She has already confiscated two of my handguns. A Ruger MKII and a 1911 in 380 Super... Oh yes, She also stole my 700 CDL SF 100 anniversary 30-06...

Hahaha! That is funny! I am fortunate that all of these stainless steel revolvers pretty much look the same to the untrained eye. The trick is to never have them in the same place at the same time......

She looks at them now and asks "how long have you had that one???????????". It's a scary thing.

soooo......i just get them and after a year or two there's just too many for her to tell the difference and she doesn't notice any new ones. we're at 4 FA83, 3 bfr's, 3 rugers, 3 smiths and that's just the big bores. add in the glocks and ruger semi autos and little revolvers and we're at a total of 25 now. it was just hard getting over the hump of about 7 of them. LOL

I like it. For the money its hard to beat. If it was mine.........
First order of business is a trigger job. The trigger because of the length need ot pull it and the near 5lbs it takes to do so was hard to get used to. I caught myself actual pulling the gun off center while pulling the trigger.
Next it needs a real bisley style grip frame. Jack Huntington does a modification to them that I have heard helps tremendously but I still would like to see a copy of Rugers bisley grip frame. I had no problem controlling the gun. It feels mild compared to my Kahnke with a full powered load. It was even easier than my 4 5/8 unscoped Blackhawk with 335grs at 1300fps. All in all good for the money but needs work before I would carry it hunting. reflex264

The good thing is the accuracy is built in already. My sons bfr 454 is ridiculously accurate. My 475 is good too. The 500 jrh is groupong well too.

As a dyed in the wool Bisley fan, I have to say that I like the Huntington modified grip even better. It gives you even more space than his modified Bisley between your knuckles and the trigger guard.

I shot it in the ballistic buff yesterday. Made a good showing. It is headed to Alaska tuesday as a bear defense gun. reflex264
