Reading on the Bowen sights, has raised a few questions for me. #1- Are they 90$ better than the factory Ruger rear sight? #2- Are they as tough as advertised? #3- Many folks say that the target style is the way to go because of the other sights requiring loctite to keep them still. I like the white outline rear sight, and it appears constructed the same as the target, but with a different blade only. Is this correct? #4- They come in .350 and .385 blade heights, my SBHH takes the taller one from the factory I am told. Would installing the lower .350 rear sight help correct shooting high with the 300gr loads? Thanks in advance, and as always, God bless.

Would installing the lower .350 rear sight help correct shooting high with the 300gr loads? It should help. My quick math tells me it should drop about 10.5" @ 50 yards with a 6" sight radius, but YMMV.
Rod, too.

The Rough Country sight locks in after sighting in. I do not like white outline sights and I find a much cleaner sight picture with the Bowen sights

I put bowens on my RSBH 44mag a few years ago and much prefer them over the factory sights.

I prefer Bowen's Target sight, it has easy click adjustments. Still durable, and has a flat finished grooved rear blade that is an improvement over Rugers rear sight, ... which I do notice glare off of. I also stay away from the white outlined rear blade, as my eyes tend to focus on the rear sight, instead of whats beyond it.

I also prefer the Bowen Target rear sight to the Rough Country. In an accurate revolver in the hands of a very good shooter, the Bowen Target is indeed worth that much more than the standard Ruger.

I also like the Bowen sights, the Millet sights were good but they've discontinued them. You could see if you could find a used one but they seem to have dried up.

Would you change the front sight as well...or leave that the factory sight?

I'm leaving the front alone. But on the SBHH, its really easy to swap out front sights if you wanted to.

But on the SBHH, its really easy to swap out front sights if you wanted to. Marble's makes a few different heights of fiber optic front sights for the Hunter models. If the shorter rear isn't enough to get you on target you may want to check them out.
