I received a survey from Ruger which included questions on what products I'd like to see, of course it was factory big bore revolvers at the top. I tried to go back in to get the web address but I keep coming up with the contact below so I'm guessing you can access it through here. We've all complained about things we'd like to see so here is the chance.

anybody want to give some specifics on what they want, or had to say? I'm about to do mine, but I'll put it off for a bit a wait for your responses and add some of them to my list.

Big bore 5-hole Bisleys, in 480R or 500 SPECIAL but I know that neither will see light of day.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

s4s4u, thats basically what I suggested as well. I would love to see a Bisley hunter in 480.

Yeah, it's not going to happen unfortunately. I have had this discussion repeatedly with them.

I mentioned the 5 shot SA 454 and 480 and the SRH in 475 and 500JRH. I also suggested a predrilled Blackhawk frame with a quality Weaver type base included. I don't like the looks or feel of the lugged hunter barrels and I especially don't like the forward position of the scope.

I too got the survey. I requested a 5 shot Bisley 480, same in a Redhawk, or a gun with Super Redhawk grip and action with a Redhawk barrel, like the one Bowen makes.

I agree Whit it probably won't happen, but hey they DID ask.

An easy one (I think)but I asked for the medium frame flat tops to be available with 7 1/2" barrels.

I also requested they get back to their "roots". The self defense market is HUGE right now, but requested they get back to serving the shooters that made Ruger what it is (or was)...and that is hunters and outdoorsmen.

Dan

I was thinking the same as some of you. I'd like to see the super redhawk offered in another caliber, not sure which one, and super blackhawk in .45lc. Even the Super Redhawk in .45LC, (not .454/.45...just .45). And maybe a SR1911 long slide. Now, onto the rifles... lol

I told them I too would like a 5 shot Bisley in 480, along with a 480 Redhawk

Also would like to see the the new 22/45 with 6 and 7 1/2 inch barrels

Super Blackhawk Hunter in 45LC and 5 shot 480 in both red and black would be fine with me. That is my main two guns I would like to see. I think a 500 special would be nice to see as well.

I filled out the survey this morning. I requested they consider making a bolt action pistol in rifle calibers.

I'm hoping enough of us will fill this out that it at least gets their attention.

At the Ruger booth at this years SCI convention I had a 15 min. conversation with a factory rep. about the discontinuation of the 480 and thier drift away from hunting handguns, compaired to what S&W was doing with thier 500's. By the end of the conversation, I had two other Ruger guys looking at the pictures on my phone of my South Africa hunt with the 480.
I wonder if I got them thinking.......

what i don't get is that at SCI they had SRH 454 casull in the 7.5 and alaskan variety. i've been wanting an alaskan for my boys and made a mention of this and that i couldn't find one and that finding a srh was tough enough. they mentioned it was b/c they were operating at max capacity and couldn't keep up with the demand. i asked why they didn't make more of those vs the other "hot" items and they said the demand was high for the AR's and the lcr and lcps' i commented that if you're selling every 454 ya make it's kinda in demand too. then i commented on how well i thought a five shot 454 and 480 would sell and they all just got this confused/deer in the headlights look in their eyes and kinda walked off. it was weird but there was very little logic flowing at that booth. every other booth there would right down your recs, some would have pen and paper to write down feasable ideas. not so at ruger's booth.

Here's an idea... since Ruger is all about semi auto's nowdays ... a semi auto big bore hunting handgun, a Ruger "Desert Eagle". Even though Im not a semi auto fan, I would buy one. Picture it, an overgrown 1911 in 480 Ruger, built like a tank, with Hi Viz express sights for boar hunting, or such. I would hold out for the Lipsey's Gold Plated edition. Bling Bling!
