I am aware of what FA offers but does anyone else have any thoughts or recommendations for a 6 inch Model83 with scope mount?

Pistol packaging is a good one. It's not as good as the FA shoulder holster if you have to crawl on all 4's.

Here is the one that I make.. It is a little hard to cover all makes of scopes and mounting systems with an enclosed style. But the open style is pretty funtional.
Mister, why do you carry a 45? "Because Sam Colt don't make a 46."

Sc1911,
I've got Pistol Packaging rigs for all of my scoped FA's, but have a Ringler Wyoming Combination holster for one of my unscoped guns (7.5" .454) - it'd be a slick combo for your 6" gun with the Ultradot - it can ride bandolier style or on the hip if you'd prefer.
Another option is the Chesty Puller rig from Simply Rugged - Rob makes a great product. (I have several of his belt rigs).

I've seen the Ringer Wyoming you mentioned. It looks very nice. Freedom 475 posted one that's nice also.

Freedom475, Can you post a pic of that holster "as worn"?
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

KRal, there are a number of good photos on his site of the holsters being worn. Maybe that one is displayed as well, I don't remember. http://www.7xleather.com

Freedom475, Thanks for the pics. That's a nice rig!
