Got a good E-mail today from Amazon.com. My "Big Bore Revolvers" book authored by someone we all know...is going to be shipped sooner than the original date. Estimated arrival is now August 23rd. Looking forward to getting it. It would be great to have before I fly to Florida on the 25th to see my new (and first) grandson.

Seriously Whit, I hope you get your "just dues" from this work. I know it will be a great read and I really think you are among the elite in the "big bore" handgun group. I learn a lot just from reading your posts.

I feel fortunate to read posts from several here that really know their stuff when it comes to my passion, big bore revolvers. The folks here post from experience for the most part, and not just from what they have heard or read somewhere else. Why else would I be getting a 475 made from a little 'ol 454. (you guys are a bad influence)

Dan, thank you for the flattering and kind words. I just did a boatload of research, and I really like to get out and make my revolvers bark, but I don't know about "elite!" Bad influence? Most definitely!

Whit as I have said in the past your writting is along the lines of Seyfried and many of the great gun writers I have read and truly enjoy how you draw the reader in, there are very few who's passion can be felt through their written words.

Well....the UPS guy JUST left my house after dropping off my copy of "Big Bore Revolvers". I was hoping to get it right before my flight on the 25th to FL, but dang if it didn't come early. No way will it go un-read until I get on the plane a week from Saturday. It will go anyway and I can read it for the 2nd or 3rd time by then. Hope it does not go the same way as my copy of "Hell I was There". I left that one on a plane one time and had to buy another copy.

Just thumbing through this one and looking at the pictures I told my wife I had some new "porn" to go through.

Whit I can assure you I am going to be buying MORE copies.
