I can't believe you have not gotten a responce.....

Welcome to the great experience that is "Handgun Hunting".

This is the book you want!!! http://www.gundigest.com/handgun-reviews-articles/a-lesson-in-big-bore-revolvers

If you search the title you find tons of postitive reviews and it just came out a few days ago!

You can even contact the author direct at maxpbooks@gmail.com and get an autographed copy.. I just talked to Max on the phone and he is signing books right now.

Mister, why do you carry a 45? "Because Sam Colt don't make a 46."

I've ordered Whit's book - most recent update shows it here by EOM
\:\)

Other books to pass the time:

John Taffin - Big Bore Handguns
Elmer Keith - Sixguns
Mark Hampton - Handgun Hunting
JD Jones and Larry Kelly - Hunting for Handgunners

In addition, James (jamesfromjersey) wrote a great article referencing some of the lesser known works out there for the handgun hunting aficionado.

Sorry, but I have not written a book, yet. Don't know if I ever will; though I have been prompted to do just that by several people.

You may be thinking of my Handgun Hunting video:

Gregg....you should write a modern handgun hunting book, with plenty of hunting stories. i think it would sell.

what am I going to do with you guys, I've been sidetracked so I've just been breezing through here and am just now reading this. There is no way any handgun book collection is complete without Hamilton Bowens "The Custom Revolver" and don't forget Marks new book on high altitude hunting although my legs are too far gone to ever get where he goes.

Both of those sit on my bookshelf -- great additions to any collection.

I'd suggest Elmer Keiths "Sixguns" to start out with. Read the whole book, not just the hunting chapter. JD Jones & Larry Kelly put out a book a decade or so ago entitled "Hunting for Handgunners". Either book is one you can read over and over, picking up things you missed the first three times.
