What's the shortest barrel ( revolver) that you would mount a scope or dot ?

As long as the barrel is at least as long as the optic I am good.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I had an Ultradot 30 on a Super Redhawk with a 5-inch barrel. As long as it fits.....

It's all gonna be how you like the balance of it.
I am waiting on a burris fastfire III red dot sight for my 7 1/2" Super blackhawk hunter. Trying to think if I want to have the barrel shortened a little.
The God who gave us such a beautiful land, wonderful game, and the sport of hunting is worth knowing.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

That's exactly what I was talking about. Two questions. Do you mind not having the front sight? How do you holster that bad boy?

The front sight would get in the way when I holster it so I never put it back. The holster is a Hunter X-Draw model made for a 6" GP-100 that I opened up a tad. It carries like a dream. I thought about going shorter but it seems that 6" is the barrel length that some places think is the least that can kill deer.
Rod, too.
