Bought my wife a 657 no dash ss 4" 41 mag smith yesterday. A good friend that loves the 41. spent a good deal of yesterday trying to buy it from her before she had a chance to shoot it.
NO SALE!
She had a chance shot it for the first time a couple of minutes ago. She loves it! She only shot it 12x but with the smile she had it will be a keeper. Our anniversary of 11 years is next week and I had been looking for something special for her, and this was it. It had only been shot maybe a box in it's lifetime, eveything is as tight as new. Sill has the inspection sticker on the bottom of the grip from the early 80's, box and paperwork.
I picked it up for 600$ I kind if felt that the price could have been a little better but, the condition of the gun couldn't have been any better.
My wife now has her a little girls gun 41 magnum.

I'll keep my fredom, money, and guns you can keep the change!

Nice!

Congratulations on your find and her present!

I'm presently looking for a 657 to join her crowd.

No, I know its not just for ladys, it is a great gun! we have been looking for reloading stuff already she shot it 12 times, and it's a keeper. Ordered a keith style Lee mould this morning, hope to order some brass, and a few other things next week. It appears to have had a little trigger work done to it, or it is the best factory trigger I have ever felt. The screws on the side plate just barely show signs of tampering. I would guess 2# with no creep or grit. I have never owned a smith, I like the way they look, just always thought they were a little pricey. Now that we have the one and I have checked out the quality I see several things I realy like about the gun.

I saw a twin to your wife's gun a couple months back down in Pekin Il. Only it was a Mountain Gun. They were asking $699.
