First post need some help.
Bought used T/C barrel, tried to install it, but hinge pin is to big to go through the barrel pivot hole. Is there anyway of dealing with this?

You must have an Armor Alloy barrel, or an oversized hinge pin. Have you tried any other barrels other than the new to you one? Is the new to you barrel a silvery color?

AA barrels need to have the hinge pin hole reamed out to fit non-AA or G2 frames.

You didn't say whether Contender or Encore, but I assumed Contender. I'm sure you already know that T/C Contender barrels won't fit T/C Encore frames.

Rod, too.

No it is a standard 10 inch black 30-30. I'm trying to put it on a new (virgin) G2. Tried putting the pin into the barrels pivot hole. It seems the pin is to big for the hole.
The only thing I can think of doing is to gently file the hole, until the pin fits.

If it's a factory barrel T/C will take care of that for you.

They will? Hadn't thought about that. That is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

I dont know but as I recall a while back on a ml site there was a guy with issues like you who decided to hand hone out the barell and had problems holding zero after that ... just a heads up.

don't try it with a file, either send it to T/C or to a smith. If the frame has had an oversized pin put in they won't/can't fix it as they don't deal with the o/s pins. Your best bet in that case is to send it Mike Bellm or one of the guys that install his pins. I'm not taking much in at the moment but on something like that it's an easy fix and if you'd like me to take care of it for you let me know. If you have a mic or good set of calipers check the sized of the pin and tell us what you find and I can tell you if it's oversized or not.

Am in contact with T/C, arrangements are being made.
They were kind of ????, but want to take a look.
Thanks for the advice.
Had thought of doing it myself, then realized that that is one of the "famous last words" guys say before they totally screw things up.

it's not the lugs he's having problems with, the pin is too large for the barrel which means it's either just a slightly undersized hole in the lug or the frame has been reamed for a larger pin. T/C in there wisdom still doesn't think a floppy barrel can cause accuracy problems, this from the same people that used to chamber their barrels on a drill press.
