I've been trying to find information in using other guns and calibers besides revolvers for hunting. Those like the Encore, FA 2008, MOA and other types. Where do I need to look? TNX

HUH?
Try right here. Search the archives. I know of no other website with as much specific info on what you are looking for; that is IF it has to do with handgun HUNTING.

I was looking around on the web and saw a MOA Corp gun and read alittle about the 7mm08 and it started to snowball into "what if I got another handgun?"

I went ahead and registered for the Specialty Pistols site. When I have read enough I will be able to ask good questions. Trying to cram though as a local gunshow is this weekend.

I have seen members here on other forums as well. Trying to decide on a caliber or two in case I ever see something come around for sale. Presently I only hunt with a .270 Winchester for whitetail and hopefully some hogs. I do plan to use my FA for them also if I see them within my ability, which I am working on weekly. However, if I ever got the opportunity to hunt out to 200 - 300 hundred yards (yikes!) I wonder should I stick with it, go with a 308 or other caliber with a specialty pistol. Game would be whitetail, mule deer, maybe pronghorn as I have a friend in South Dakota.

I wonder should I stick with it, go with a 308 or other caliber Nothing wrong with the .270 for your intended targets. Smaller bores do tend to be more susceptible to velocity loss in the short tubes so I would go with at least a 14" to 15" length pistol barrel if you wish to have good bullet performance at extended ranges.
Rod, too.
