What kind of holsters do you guys use for your revolvers in the field? Would love to hear types, brands, etc. Your input, as always, is greatly appreciated.

I wear a cross draw holster made by Mernickle Custom Holsters. They recently moved to Nevada. They make a great product that's tough and good looking.

For my 480 SRH I use a Bianchi cross draw holster. It fits me really well. The thing I like the best is that the shoulder strap hooks to the middle of the holster and wraps aroud your waist and hooks back into the holster. It keeps the holster tight to your side.

Last month I picked up a Bandito shoulder belt made by Pistol Packaging. I got a holster for my 44 and my MKII. It fits well. I have not used it enough in the field to give an honest opinion, but plan on changing that real soon. The workmanship is excellent, and the holsters fit the guns like a glove. Here thier site.

If you are talking about a large scoped handgun, then nothing beats the Bandito by PistolPackaging. However, if you are talking about a belt holster then any of the name brands will do an excellent job. For one of my guns I even use a Safariland 002 rig to carry the gun. It retains the gun extremely well and I can draw quickly if the need arises.

i havn't packed my revolver in the field for a while now, but i like my uncle mikes bandelero nylon holster. would be hard for me to go the extra money for the leather. only one thing on the down side of it.........it makes a lil noise "on the draw". when i was packing it......i'd pull it out beforehand while on stand.
