You have my utmost respect!!

Last weekend five of us got together and shot at 500 yards and then out to 1K, I was the only handgun shooter. My word, the wind, the humidity, the mirage and the head scratching !! Total I shot 100-125 rounds out of my 7 Dakota from friday night to sunday night. We had anywhere from a straight across the range breeze 5-8 mph or a headwind of about the same, no wind meters just off the cordless weather station mounted to the roof of one of the guys shop 3 miles away.

We did not have a spotting scope that could mark the hits, so we took turns shooting five shot groups and one guy would rip down to the target on the four wheeler and report back, not the most effective way but we had a blast, what a challenge, cant wait to do it again, the picture is from my 3rd five shot string sunday evening.

1K or 500 yard group?
What did it measure?
It is fun and humbling all at the same time isn't it?

1 K
18 inches I think, the only group I shot that we did not have to measure in furlongs.
Extremely fun and yes very, very humbling, I told the guys that were out shooting about your group at 1 K, stating you could put 5 in a spot they could cover with their hand.

I don't know for sure, if I'll get out again before we go to Casper or not. The target is in the way for bean harvest, which is going to start this week in places. I can go to 700 at my range now, once the beans come off I can go out to 1K.

Got a pic of your gun? What bullets are you shooting in your 7 dakota? That looks like an IBS target, is it a 1000 yard target or a 600?

Thanks all, I've got a ways to go, but it sure is fun.

I've been meaning to put up some pix of the gun for a while now, but no, I have none. Shooting the Berger 180 VLD hunting bullets. Actually I think it is a 600 yard target. If you so desire, you can go to member articles and scroll to "Tag Team Tag Out" it's a short article on the antelope hunt we took with Gregg Richter last year, there's a pic of it there.

Absolutely,,,,,,,,,,,,, Leica 1600, just picked up my new antelope rig from my bud who builds his own target rifles. It is a work in progress, but so far it is SAWEEEET!!! An aluminum stocked mid grip in 6 BRX, I have to fire form tonight and get serious after that, will post some pix if I find the time, I've had the Dakota for a year and a half and have yet to post pics of that it, so I'd hate to rush into it.

6 BRX 105 Bergers, actually I'm letting Jared use this, if he wants.

180 Bergers in Dakota.

Are you able to join us? How is your archery elk going?
