Does a T/C muzzle Tamer come off? Do they screw off? Best way to remove? Will it make a mess? I would like to have if off for hunting season.

You will have to put a torch to it to loosen up the adhesive, but it will screw off.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

if you do get it off you'll want to have a thread protector made for it if possible. I actually didn't think they came and thought they were machined on but I've never tried to remove one either. Just out of curiousity why do you want it off, is it just the noise?

I hunt in box blinds. The blast is right much. I guess muffs will be best thing.

Some of the older models were not threaded on, at least the one that blew off the end of my .35 rem barrel did not have any threads showing. The end of the barrel looked machined, never found the muzzle tamer though. They replaced the barrel promptly.
You should never hunt without hearing protection.[ NO DEER IS WORTH LOOSING YOUR HEARING OVER].Don't wait until you have this constant ring tone in your ears like I have to learn this, then it will be too late!!!!!!!!!!

From my understanding, it also depends on the age of the barrel. From what TC techs have told me in 2005, the newer one were threaded on and then soldered. The older ones were clamped on.

That is what I have been told, so take it for what it is worth…

Just a thought, if you have the barrel cut and recrowned you wouldn’t have to worry about a cap.

I think I will leave it as is. I have a Encore with a 22-250 barrel now. I have a 6mmBR barrel coming, and will get a 7mm-08.

My T/C Super-14 7-30 Waters has a muzzle tamer. All my hunting is from a wooden box blind. I always wear electronic muffs while hunting. My hearing is too precious to lose.
