The crosshairs in my scope (leupold) seem to be slightly rotated with the scope being level. Any ideas????

Warranty service. Give them a call and send it in. No DIY for that.

Rod, too.

X2 on what Rod said...

sounds as though the crosshairs have come loose or moved from recoil,I had that happen on a 4X Tasco when I first got my SRH in .454,thats one of the reasons she now wears an Ultradot.

Looks like its going back to the factory then. Thanks everyone. I tell ya', I don't have alot of rounds with that scope for it to be messed up from recoil. Oh well..

I believe they allow for a few degrees of tilt right out of the box. I am sure they will make it right

I just received my brand new 2x Leupold back from warranty service. It took a month , they say they are very busy because of hunting seasons.

The scope 's reticle was offset 5 degrees to the clockwise!!!
They did improve it, however it is still approx 2 degrees offset!!

2 years ago I bought 2 of the same scope (FX11 Leupold 2x handgun) for a new Freedom Arms/Magnaport Stalker.
Both had the same offset reticle problem, so I returned them an
located a good used one that was correct.

It seems that they have not addressed the problem in the last 2
years!!

The person that installs the reticles must sleep with the boss, or is crosseyed or something!!

It is all about quality control!!

I have been a Leupold fan for 50 yrs, but they are trying my patience!!

I use scopes to test loads, and hunt with open sights,

so perhaps I am being too demanding, but I don't think it is asking too much to get the reticle straight!!

Leupold used to get it right, and other companies still do!!!

For the time being, I will keep my eye open for correct used,

older model 2x Leupolds!!

I use them for lever actions on a scout mount also.
It works better for me than the designated ""Scout scopes"".

If its ok otherwise, I might be able to live with it. I was just concerned about something being broken. I'll contact them Monday. It going on a handgun so I'm not looking at very long shots.

Nytracker, I agree with you. At that price you shouldn't have to look down your scope every time and see crooked cross hairs.

I looked at a new leupold in the store not long ago and could have swore it had misaligned crosshairs. or maybe I was just a little off that day lol.

They do allow for a few degrees. It won't be fixed if it is within their specs. I agreee that it SHOULD be perfect though.

If they , in fact, allow for a few degrees misallignment, it is
because people (us) allow them to get away with it!!!

If enough folks would send them back, they would take care of the problem!!

I gave up on the phone call after waiting for a long time!!

They kept increasing the estimated waiting time, when it hit 35 min., I quit!!

Sent them an email, still waiting to hear back.

I just did a search , and there is a history of canted reticles

with Leupold,

I suspect most people just ignore it, otherwise they would not

get away with it!!
