Time is running short and its time for me to work up some new loads for the 12"(7-08) barrel. I was using 39 grs H335 w/ 140 NBT in my 15" bbl, nothing spectacular but it shot ok... does anyone have a better starting load?... i have 120 NBT's if that fits better? Regardless what the load is, I will chrony it in both bbls to see what the velo loss is for 3" of barrel.

I use Hornady 120's and more Varget than some manuals allowed for deer. Just short of "lightining" on deer. I suspect 120's will be too light for good penetration on hogs though, especially if you hit the gristle plate.

I'm reloading mine with 140grain Sierra BT's and 40 grains IMR 4350, shoots good groups. Havnt killed anything with the 08, but killed a bunch of deer with same bullet out of a 280 Rem
