I am going into depression, work and other things don't allow time off to do this year!  First year in a long time. I broke from the brotherhood last year and took a nice Colorado cow Elk with my M1 Garand; It was something I've always wanted to do other than punch paper with it. what a thrill. I have new found respect for every soldier who carried one of these every day.

Sorry to hear you can't make it out west this year. Did carrying that Garand stretch your arms a bit? I grew up hunting with heavy WWII rifles like the 03A3, one beast chambered in 8mm Lebel and others so I know how you feel.

If it's any consolation I couldn't have made it for elk either but I have a hell of a moose story for ya. LOL

Not an easy to get permit. I'll take my chances on continuing to hunt Colorado. Besides,for me, it's more fun to hunt with a group of friends in the Wilderness....ask SSP HUnter!
