It is that magical time again this year when each fall I come to Wyoming and help my handgun hunting brothers and sisters pursue the wily and speedy and oh so vigilant and wary pronghorn. The weather is beautiful and the sunset this eve was gorgeous.

Hardly any wind.

We plan on meeting up with Ernie on Monday p.m.

Good luck to all. Saw a lot of antelope when I was up there in August so the hunting should be good.

Good luck, have fun, and stay safe. Not necessarily in that order. LOL

Enjoy your family and friends today as they may not be here tomorow.

Well, I got my hunters (two ladies!) filled out. Both got nice 'lopes. Up to them to tell their stories and post their pics though.

BTW: These girls are deadly shots with their Contenders...they made it easy for me.

I got the afternoon to myself. After shooting and sighting in a few guns, I went to one of the prairie dog towns. Had a great time. Unable to post pics now but will when I get back.

Wyoming is beautiful!

We met up with Ernie on Monday afternoon at Mac's Gunworks south of Gillette and shot steel.

Here Ernie coaches Heather (Pink TC) on the finer details of long range shooting.

This was a great trip in many ways. I experienced many firsts.

One was being all alone in prairie dog town way out on the ranch about 4 miles from the closest main road and being suddenly and without warning engulfed by a Wyoming ground blizzard/dust storm followed by rain; all total about sixteen minutes. It was amazing and I refused to heed those little voices to get the
h--- out of there; just enjoyed it for what it was.

Another was filming Ernie as he fired his first ever .50 BMG round; and from a rifle.

Yet another was guiding a lady handgun hunter and together making a fine stalk including belly crawl and with her finishing with a great kill shot on a record book animal while I got it on film.

Like I said; Wyoming is beautiful.
