Quakertown,Pa Bucks Co. 15 minutes from the Delaware River and an hour east of Cabelas. Lots of whitetails here. Tagged a nice 8 pt buck last Wednesday with my recurve bow. 25yd shot, no tracking necessary, he never left the field.

Luzerne County.

I live in Lancaster County but hunt in Schuylkill County.

Allentown, 30 min due east of Cabelas.

Do the game lands get hit heavy down there? I always see there are tons of doe tags left, but never venture over there because I feel like I'm gonna show up and see an army of orange.

Tom, what part of Lancaster? I grew up in willow street.

I lived in Bucks County for 15 years. The SGLs get pounded pretty hard during gun season.

5C and 5D have plenty of deer, however the majority of them are on private ground. If you can get in somewhere you should be good to go, however many places are locked up with other hunters or are urban transplants that don't want us gun toting psychopaths from hurting the cute little deer that live in their backyard <facepalm>

Also anything south of the Northampton county line is Special Regs (shotgun only)

Thanks SB, yes the game lands here do get hit pretty hard. I hunt mostly private land. If I do get on the game lands it's usually during the week during spring turkey, if at all.
And yes, Cabelas IS our state capitol.
I'll try to post a pic of my buck if I can figure out the process again.

Live in York co. Hunt pretty close to you SBHunter81. My hunting partner and I pull my camper up to Stoney Brook Estates campground and hunt the gameland right beside it. Can't think of the gameland no. off the top of my head. this will be the 3rd. year hunting up there.

Any of you guys planning on hunting bear this year?

I hope to get out at least one day for bear. Went last year for the first time ever. Saw nothing at all.
I'll carry a Contender in .45-70 wearing irons. I have an UltraDot for it but probably won't get it mounted this season.
Taurus .44mag with 320gr hardcast as back up.

How did your deer seasons end?

Mine was great. A dandy buck the first day before 7:30AM. Then a healthy doe on the first monday of doe week.

Awesome! I shot a small buck and a doe in archery and then a doe with my pistol in rifle.

Also my church is having a sportsmans banquet march 15&16. We are about 10 min west of cabelas. If anyone is interested please let me know via PM.
