Wisconsin hunter here. Hunter in Jefferson and eastern Dane Co with a Ruger Redhawk 44mag with a red dot scope.

While I live in CA now, I still have hunting property in Douglas County and return for the gun deer season each year... Forever a cheesehead.

I use Contenders:.223,.44, and .30-30. A Single-six is usually in the holster.

I'm from Wisconsin too, I live in Viroqua.
This year I spent opening weekend by Disco, WI...Jackson County.
-Saturday morning I hesitated/passed/decided to go for it/never got a shot (that probably took all of 10 seconds) with an average sized 8pt. That was my deer encounter for the first 4 days of hunting all day, every day.
I hunted in Richland County for two days during the warm spell without seeing any deer.
I hunted a little in Rock County 2nd weekend. My in-laws own some property on the Illinois state line. I actually flushed two does across the border INTO Illinois, then passed on a little 6pt later in the day.
That's how it goes sometimes I guess...this year I was carrying either a 30-30AI Contender or a 7mmBR Encore.

S&W 686 Mtn in .41 Mag -- Deer - Most anything on four legs. Is your 686 converted to .41 mag.? Sure would like to get back to Wisconsin for deer season. Used to be every year, between McCoy and Blackriver Falls. Now, usually down here in the Sucker state(Illinois). Steve

I hunt with ruger blackhawks in 41 and 45 colt. Sometimes I take the sbh 44 mag. I recently acquired a bfr in 475 and that needs to go along too

I hunt the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest in sheboygan county and family farm that is bordered by it on two sides.
Handguns used for small game .32 HR Mag Single Six, .36 Euroarms Remington New Model Navy, .44 Armi San Paolo Remington New Model Army or an original .36 Remington New Model Police revolver. All depends on how I feel.
Handguns for deer .44 Euroarms Rogers & Spencer shooting a conical or with the conversion cylinder shooting .45 Colt
