Thanks Darrell! My wife and I just returned from an enjoyable experience in South Africa and Mozambique. We were looking for a few specific species not taken on previous trips. In South Africa we hunted with Murray Crous of Settlers Safaris. Murray and his wife did everything possible to make our hunt successful and rewarding. We took Barbary sheep, southern roan, copper springbuck, and genet.

I took two guns; XP in 308 Win. and Encore in 375 JDJ. Ammo; DoubleTap with 165 gr. Nosler AB for the .308 Win. Cor-Bon 375 JDJ ammo with their 270 gr. DPX. Both guns mounted with Leupold 2.5-8X scope.

After South Africa we headed to Mozambique with Zambeze Delta Safaris. This is wild Africa for sure. Lots of game, lots of adventure. The hippo was taken on the Zambezi River and it was quite the experience. Other game taken included suni, red duiker, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, and reedbuck.

Overall it was a great experience and I'm glad to share it with my wife.

Best of Hunting,
Mark Hampton

Congrats Mark! How much penetration did you get on the hippo with the Corbon 375JDJ load?

I can't give you exact amount of inches as we were unable to recover the bullet. But it was significant. Thanks

Good hunting Mark. I can not imagine how wonderful a hunt like that would be like. Glad you get to enjoy it.
