I have read here several times about Taurus' terrible customer service. While I believe the accounts that have been relayed here I have to be fair. I had the wrong scope mount sent to me by MidwayUSA. It was not their fault for Taurus had the wrong part in the right package when MidwayUSA received it to sell. When I called Taurus to find out what part I needed they tracked down the part I needed by the Serial number of my Raging Bull and within a week sent me the right mount on a swap. Entire transaction, one week. They were pleasant and prompt, just how I like service to be. At least this time, they got it right. Have my ultradot already fitted on the gun and it is sweet!

Question for you, what raging bull do you have?
I've been pondering getting one in .454 but I havent been able to find check out, big bore handguns arent that popular in my area.
The online information I can find seems a bit biased because people just think Taurus is bad, so its left me kinda guessing at rather or not I should purse getting this gun

Zack,
I have the .44 model 444 with 8" 3/8" barrel. I just put an Ultradott 30MM on it this week

Zach,
I have the Raging Bull in 454 Casull with a 6.5 inch barrel. I too read the reviews and was a little hesitant at first. Now, I really like the revolver. I have put about 80 rounds through it and really like shooting.
I know there are many manufacturers out there and at a considerably higher cost, but for an entry into big bore handguns I don't think you will be disappointed.

once in a while there is a positive story like yours but unfortunately most aren't. The problems really seem to kick in if you have to send a gun back which unfortunately happens way too often with Taurus. In fairness when their guns work they are great but too many of them come out of the factory screwed up.

I recently bought a Taurus PT-22 and really like it. Quality seems fine and it came with a nice set of wood grips. I carry it every day. No duh this is not a big bore but it is my only experience with Taurus. I guess I got a good one...??? So far about 340 rounds through it.

I have a few Taurus revolvers in varying calibers and all shoot well with no issues. Perhaps quality is improving? Time and use will tell.

Davidsons told me they have improved, or at least they hadn't recently had any cylinders fall on the floor when they took them out of the box. Our dear departed Tigger phrased it best "Tore-Ass". I know wtroper had a brand new 22 that was junk just a few months ago.

Yup. Got it back from Tauras. Kept it a few days. Did not shoot it. Took it to my friend's pawn shop & told him to sell it for what he could get.
Spend your money anyway you want to. I choose not to spend anymore of mine on that brand. Just my $.02.
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

All valid opinions. My choice for the Raging Bull was based on reviews, experience with another Taurus revolver and last, price. I want to be sure big bore handgunning is for me and if it proves true then I will dump the Raging Bull and look for something on the higher end of the scale.
