It was exciting to use my reloads to kill a deer for the first time. I was using the 375 JDJ with a 220 gr Hornady SP over 50gr of H4895. The doe was about 70 yards away and fell in her tracks. I was very happy with the performance of the bullet. This will be my bullet to use in the 375.
I posted picture on bragging board because it won't post here.

I had to be a funny sight in that tree. I had to turn completely around in the stand and squat down to use the back rest as a gun rest. I was 40 feet off the ground in a climbing stand.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

DD,

Great job. I think all of us who reload had that moment of "wondering" when dropping the hammer on a critter with our handloads from a particular gun. I spent a bucket load of time reloading for a 375JDJ years ago, but sold my collection off before ever using it on a critter. I guess I'll never know...You do, for sure.

Outstanding! Those 375JDJ's are hammers. Nothing like shooting loads you put together. I'm carrying my 375JDJ during this season. I'm using the TC Hand Cannon factory ammo in mine just for hoots. I have been loading for mine many years with 225grn flat points and 260grn Hornady's. I found a deal on 100 of the TC handcannon factory ammo that was loaded many years back. The first round out of the pistol hit right where my reloads hit. Mine shoots pretty flat out ot 150 yds and that is farther than I can see where I hunt in the woods on a creek. I have the SSK 14" with magnaport and full rib and the factory rounds are a handfull.

There ain't nothing like taking a deer, or anything for that matter, with a handgun. Congrats.
