Bullet maker's data always runs more conservative. Hodgdon's manual says 19-21 for a Speer 180 TMJ, but different bullets have different characteristics and not all 180's are created equally when it comes to bearing surface and seating depth. I try to reference both the bullet and powder maker's data and determine an average for a start.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

you also have to account for different guns. some data is aimed toward revolvers, some the TC's.

The TC loadbook has quite a bit of loading data for the 357 Max.
My barrel favors AA1680 with a 180gr projectile.

Ditto on what Tex said, and look at the Hornady data.

Any load you see using W296, you can substitute with H110 (or vise versa); they're virtually the same powder. .001 difference in bullet dia. will not make any significant difference.

No flys on H110/296, I just think it has significantly more recoil compared to other powders.
