Got this doe on Ny opener 11/17 First deer with the blackhawk. Red dot, 240 gr sjsp magtech ammo. I had missed a fox with my 16g wingmaster and it ran to my bro and he shot it. Then my bro pushed 3 does past me. This one was last in line and had to stop at edge of hedg row. Shot little farther forward then I'd like but she went right down in front and ended up dead on mowed path other side of hedgerow. Was about a 30yd shot.

I also got 2 small button bucks on Sun with the shotgun. I'm a meat hunter and freezer empty so I had to shoot em since they just stood there. So far we got about 30 deer at deer camp including those from bow season

Good show!

Rod, too.

I grew up in the farm country of NY. I have friends and family back there. Lots of deer to be had this year, and bears.

What load were you using .. ?

Good shooting...

Ya NY is nice good woodland and great place to live...aside from the communists that run the govt here!!
Where I live I see herds of 30-50 deer on a regular basis (landlord has a horse farm so its all pastures). Bad part is they only overnight here so can never get shots on em. My gunclub has 500 acres and thats where i got these.

It was factory magtech ammo-240gr sjsp

NY has become the "peoples republic", and is the second most expensive place to live after California.

One good feature is all of the public hunting grounds there are. Lots of opportunity. Get a box of standard velocity .44 Spls. to carry in your pack, they make great squirrel and rabbit loads.

There is a herd of Elk in the Allegany National Forest, not sure if NY DNR has set a season, but Penn. has. If you could get an Elk in NY, that would be something to talk about..!!! And then there are the moose in the Adirondacks..

Good hunting..

good job, congrats, and oh bte, is that where you intended to shoot her? just askin, because that seems to be my favorite spot to hit them, they always end up DRT, but I get criticized by the guys shooting long barrels and eating tag soup that that is a poor percentage shot. good job!!
