I am looking for spotting scope, just for handgun shooting. I don't need a high $ scope, just something out to 200yds. I am looking at a Alpen, any info ?

I don't have any experience with their spotting scopes, but I do have a friend that has one of their bino's. They seem to be very nice and the glass is pretty clear..

You know that if you have a spotting scope that you will use it for more than that. I would suggest that when it comes to glass that you spend some money and get good glass. I have an older Meopta that is compact, waterproof, even without the eye piece and I can spot .22 holes at 300 yards. Spend the money if you can.

Just an opinion.
