After reviewing a trail cam card at lunchtime today, it was an easy decision on where to hunt this evening...the camera showed daylight hog activity almost every day for the past week, including a couple of really nice boars. Given the stand location, the gun choice was easy (kinda) - my unblooded, new-to-me FA 353 Casull.

30 yards - Federal factory 140 gr Barnes...sow was broadside, shot just below and behind the ear. No tracking necessary - complete pass through.

Can't wait to handload some "Taffinesque" loads with the 140 Barnes...should have a dramatic effect on deer-sized game!

Good show! The stocks look much whiter in the photo than the usual FA micarta. Are those by Reeder?

Good eye Ken - they are by Corian stocks by Reeder. Great fit and finish. That was Stan's gun out of Alabama that I liberated from "The Set"

And KRal, I knew better than to trade jabs with Glenn - he's meaner than I am, so I'm sure there will be retribution. But it was too much to pass up...

In February I have a hunt in Georgia. We killed a bunch last year and I can't wait to kill a mess of them this year again.
