So if you were headed to a hunting lodge far far from home and were taking a couple of full size pistol on the hunt what gear would you NOT leave home without.
Can be hunting gear and/or gun gear.

Compass and topo map of area. Scares the hell out of me if I forget those two things. Also, my Colt Anaconda because it's a revolver. Very little chance something will malfunction with it. And I don't even THINK about going outdoors without my Danner boots.

I don't clean my guns. The powder soot keeps them from rusting

Two types of fire starter. Especially if going "out west" or "up north". This will save your life quicker than anything if you get in a tight spot.

Never been to a hunting lodge but have hunted out of self-made A-frames most of my life and here are a few items that are a must have:
1-Bushman repellant 2-Baby-wipes 3-GPS with spare batteries 4-rain gear 5-quality sleeping bag and suitable pillow 6-medicinal whiskey
Being wet, tired and having a baboon arse can sometimes be hard to take when everything else seems to being falling apart but as long as you can find your way back to the tent without being eaten alive by bugs, stay dry and get a good nights rest with a clean butt - you'll always make the best of whatever Nature has in mind for you.

I might bring a Rem Oil wipe and a brush but nothing else. If it was properly maintained before the trip, it should be fine until you get home.
If you have a habit of dropping your firearm in the mud/sand/dirt, then you might consider having a cleaning kit at the lodge.

I don't know how well this fits, but on any major hunting trip I go on. I always pack a tooth repair kit. I don't think anything could ruin a hunt like having a filling fall out when your in the middle of no-where's.

1) iPhone--takes care of compass, weather and communication 2) Reading glasses--so I can read my iPhone 3) Batteries--so I can find my iPhone in dark with flashlight 4) KY bourbon--warmth,in case I forget my Bic lighter. 5) Toilet paper--see #4 6) Shooting sticks/Bull bag--not a good shot without 'em.

I'll still carry a compass. Electronics are great until they get wet. Absolutely! Do you guys take a "gun box" of cleaning supplies Will carry an impregnated rag (w/#9) in a zip lock bag to wipe down the exterior but never touch the bore once I have done my pre-season zero.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

My God ... tooth repair kit ? Hard core... You must have never been on an actual hunt. I think it's alot of time and investment to ruin with something like that:)

I actually broke a tooth in half on a long trip and took 3 days of excruciating pain before I got to a dentist. I actually have a temp kit in my survival pack now
