The 32 yard hard quarter toward shot took out her shoulder and heart. I found the Barens 250 grain in the gut pile.

Now ain't that perty ;-)
Worked as advertised. Congrat's on the iron sight smackdown.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Those things work so well. Hard to not like that! Got any pics of internal damage? Congrats

Congrats! What velocity are you running those Barnes?
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Sig - congratulations!
Love the Barnes bullets - textbook performance. And nice picture perspective!

Congrats! What velocity are you running those Barnes? I don't remember the fps. but Curly and I are guessing 13XXish fps. We load them on top of 22.5 grains of 296 with a HEAVY crimp. I only have 9 bullets left and am wondering what load to try next? It will be hard not to use Barnes bullets as I think they are perfect for whitetail deer hunting. No pictures of the damage the bullet caused this time but its dramatic as expected.

That's great mushroom. Congrats on both. I bought some for my 45-70. I hope I get one next year. Did you have to dig for it or was it stuck under hide on opposite side.

They work really well in the 45-70 Deerdad. I don't remember the load but I never did recover one from deer. Damage was typical but very predictable. Never had any "surprises"

Thats what id expect. Ive recovered a couple from the 454. One from an oryx that i shot dead on at 60 yards as it was going down in a seated position. Went through the chest wall chest cavity and spine and found in the hide in the "hump". The 2nd was on a black bear. A big one that went thru noth shoulder bones and directly thru the spine and was on the offside hide. Both mushroomed to an inch and were slightly larger than a quarter
