I just picked up a rockchucker press.Guess I am going to reload . Racksmasher hooked me up with a shop up his way got me started.187 miles round trip,5 phone calls to racksmasher, three stores ,and more money than I will admit to my wife I think I am good to go.

I know theres thing I will still need but its a start... spent way more than a kit but nobody wanted to ship to ny ...nobody had a kit in house.

I bought what I needed to start also. Then bought something else I "needed" (actually just wanted lol) everyday since.
You have plenty to get started. But this is addicting.

Welcome aboard. You are off to a great start. You might keep an eye out for a case trimmer, and a caliper or micrometer, but you are ready to rock.

I have 2 non digital calipers for wood working but was thinking digital would be nice ... any sugestions ?

I like the dial calipers, the digital always seemed to have dead batteries when I needed it.

I love my digital calipers but like s4s4u said.....sucks when you reach for them and the battery is dead.

I own some high end stuff I use in my gunsmithing work and from my days as an auto tech but I've found the 15.00 ones from Harbor freight work fine for loading. The most important thing is consistency, if your off a couple of thousandths that won't hurt anything until your loading benchrest stuff and even then if you use the same tool and it's consistent you can get it done. My point is no need to spend big bucks on calipers.

question on the uniflow powder measure ... do i need a small powder cylander assembly for loading pistol rounds?And if so should i spend the extra 10 bucks for the micrometer adjustment?

I found the small rotor to work much more consistently doing my 44 and 10mm. Much better drops and easier to adjust when switching powders and charge weights.

No...it will work just fine. Maybe down the road look for a Lil'Dandy measurer. Been using the heck out of mine lately....love it.
