The gun with the Reaper grips is my new Remington R1. So far all I've done is put a recoil buffer in it and install the Hogue scrimshaw Reaper grips. The other gun is my semi custom build. I plan on getting matching Reaper grips for it and I still want to do some more stuff to it. They are both great shooters but on my build I'm going to put a SS barrel bushing on it to match the R1. This particular gun has a Caspian frame, Vietnam era govt issue surplus barrel, and the slide is off a WWII Ithaca. Internally it's a combination of modern parts, the gun has skelotinized trigger and hammer aftermarket disconnector, sear and springs as well as having replaced all the pins. I call it my Frankenstein but it's a nice shooting gun. I eventually would like to get some nice leather in the form of a two gun shoulder rig but the ones I've found are about 250.00 or more so I have to wait so the other half doesn't use them on me.

Dang, nice pair, Rod.

BTW I like the idea of a 2 gun shoulder rig; man now that would be some firepower. Ya got a pic or link to the holster you are talking about?

Sweet! The only thing better than a 1911, is two 1911s.

Love those grip panels.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

here is a link to two on Amazon, I may try the cheap one until I can get the nice one. The only thing is the cheap one says for 4.5" autos and mine are standard 5". I think it's more a generic holster and I'd rather have the nice leather made for the 1911.

Hey Rod,

I notice one has a short trigger and the other has a medium (or longer). I guess you have one hand that is bigger than the other ;^) Probably the hand that gets pounded on the desk more often ;^)

Looking good.....

LOL, yeah when I built mine I went with the longer trigger which fits me better and I'll eventually change the one on the Reminton to match. That's the great thing about the 1911, it's the AR15 of handguns with tons of parts and options out there you can do whatever you want to with them.

The grip panels are commercial ones from Hogue.

Rod,

I have a bin full of long triggers ;^) It took me quite a long time to snap to shorter triggers for my hands. I'm a lot slow sometimes.....
