I have the 15" contender and encore (both ported) in 375JDJ and 460S&W. I can shoot them off the bench about 20 times each before I start to get "flinchy".

So my question is how does this recoil compare to say one of the FA / SRH / Custom revolvers in a 500? Or a 475Linebaugh?

Generally I would say the T/C's are going to push more with less flip of the muzzle but that's highly dependent on how the guns are set up.

This video clip shows Fowler shooting my FA in .500 Wyoming Express. You won't see a T/C single shot doing this kind of muzzle flip; as the single action revolvers have this roll up tendency due to the grip/frame design.

Open it and then click on the white window that says "click on thumbnail;" then be patient and when it plays it will be worthwhile the 25 seconds wait.
