So I went to see my buddy that owns a pawn shop. He tells me, "You have GOT to see this!!!" He then takes me to the gun counter, pulls out this stainless Ruger Blackhawk, and I can't believe what I'm holding.

This poor old gun had the hack job of all hack jobs done to it. They cut the barrel down, and the cut isn't even CLOSE to straight. They re-crowned it, and my 7 year old cousin could have done a better job of it. The plunger is missing from the gun completely. The front sight blade wasn't even close to square.

I could hear this gun crying for help. So my first thought was, "REBUILD!!!!"

It is a 44 mag as it sits right now. Are there any of the 1/2 inch calibers, that can be made from the frame of a 44 mag RBH? If not, what is the largest caliber that can be built off this frame?

I think I finally found me a rebuild gun!!! He only wants $150 for it!

Indeed! The sky is the limit. That revolver is the perfect foundation for a good custom.

500 S&W Special

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

PERFECT!!!!! I was hoping the 500 JRH would work!

Guess where I'm going to spend my next $150?! I'll post some pics when I get it so you can see just how badly treated it was!

That is the route I would take.

Hey Guys!!! Went back to get the paperwork started to acquire this handgun, and turns out it is a SUPER blackhawk!!!

That makes it all the better!! I was so caught up in all that had been done to this poor thing that I didn't even catch that it was a super blackhawk! I'm no professional with single action guns at all, and this will, admittedly, be my first one ever.

So don't bark on me to bad for not catching it the first time around!

I've wanted to do a 500JRH build since reading about them, and asking you guys about them. Now that I have the build gun, and Rod is no longer doing builds, who is the second best builder?

You could probably get all the rebuild projects you could hope for by standing in line at one of those darn gun buybacks our silly politicians are running.

I'd get in trouble. There would be to many politicians standing WAAAAAAAAY to close to resist that temptation!!!
