I just came across an excellent deal on a Remington XP100 in 221 FireBall that I'm intending to use for groundhogs. I have 2 questions. 1) Would a Leupold Vari-X 2 in 4-14X40mm be a good scope to use? I'm concerned about the eye relief as, I never put a riflescope on a handgun before. and question 2) I would like to put a set of Bipods (Harris or Caldwell style)on it but, it has a 10" or 10 3/4" bbl (not sure but, it's short) and it doesn't have a sling swivel on the plastic stock. What would be the best way to mount it on my firearm without causing too much damage. I don't want to destroy value of the firearm. Thank You For your time! - Matt

You can install a sling stud in the stock. The plastic stocks are a dime a dozen so don't worry about defacing it.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.
