Hello, I am a central Ohio Handgun Hunter. I have been handgun hunting since 1978. Started with a SRH 9.5" 44 mag, next was a T/C Contender 14" (35 Rem, 44 mag, Bullberry 35 Rimmed), Savage Striker 308 win (m516), and others. Newest is a 454 Raging Bull 8.375".

I have hunted Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio. Took an Ohio record book whitetail in 1999, 8 point, scored 148".

Hi Swede, I've just joined the Handgun Hunter Family. I'm in Northeast Ohio, and primarily hunt this area, although I've also hunted in Southern Ohio and PA. I just started handgun hunting last season. I took a nice healthy corn fed doe , one shot , 10 foot run and dead. I am currently using a Raging Bull 44 Magnum. I noticed that you didn't have any replies, so here is your first, and hopefully not your last. Good Luck!

From N.E. Ohio- Just got a Blackhawk .41 from my stepson. He had a .22 pistol I had and wanted to trade, said he didn't like the .41. Have been shooting it some, can get them on a pie plate. Thinking about deer hunting with it. Have used a sidelock muzzleloader up till now. But at 78 yrs old may give the pistol a go. Sure like it for shooting.

Hello! Your 41 would be a great choice for deer. Nothing like handgun hunting no matter the species. Im giving my 357 Mag contender a work out this year because its the only one I got that's ready to go. Season starts Monday good luck to you and everyone else around these parts

Florida checking in heave brush and shoot shots make it easy to chose a hand gun too hunt with but bigger is better so I lean on the bigger calibers 44,454,41gnr and 510gnr for open areas 7mm-08xp100

We are only allowed straight walled cartridges 357 cal or larger with 5 inch barrel minimum or id have me a 358 bellm or use my 41 but its 4 5/8 so I can't use it but a 5 inch 38 is ok... I don't get it but I just have to live with it. This year I couldn't find my 45/70 components cause we just moved so ive been playing with my 357 anyways welcome to the forum everyone here has something to offer so if you have any questions just ask.
