I have been reading about alot of different calibers and it seems lots of people like this caliber. Since I am not able to reload is it possible to buy ammo for this factory made or from someone? Also would a 10" or 14 " contender barrel be better?

I really like the .357 Maximum. The only manufacturer of ammo I know of that actually loads for the .357 Max is Grizzly Ammo.

10" would be great.....14" would be greater.

That is where I got mine before I began loading for it.
Rod, too.

Ok. It looks like they are reasonable on price. I am thinking the 158 grain SP?

JMHO, go heavy...
Most, not all, 357's bullets are made for mag or sp velocity. The Max doesn't really shine until you get to the 180's.
I am not the authority in this subject, just talking out loud.

I will be whitetail hunting in Indiana and of course if a coyote comes along I will use it for that also.
Thank you for the link. I looked at it and will go with the 180 at least if I decide on getting this caliber. You guys are full of info. i am getting hooked already and have not even shot my gun for along time.

Mine likes nice heavy cast bullets. If you don't load now, buy the max and start to do so.

I have a Handi rifle I use and been loading a 158 JHP with a dose of 296 powder. The barrle has been trimmed to 16 1/2" since most of my shots are 75 yards or less here in southern Indiana. It sports a nice 1.5 x 4.5 which I need for my old eyes. I also have the same rifle in 445 Super Mag just about all you need for Indiana deer hunting. I suck shooting pistols s I am stuck with my rifle most the time. WOuld love to practice to have a Encore 445 pistol. I have a new Pro Hunter frame in the safe.
