Finally got the gun to the range for a short session. Only had time to shoot two loads.

Load #1:

1). 2681 FPS
2). 2691 FPS
3). 2688 FPS

Load #2:

No chrono data on this load. Sun was setting putting my chrony in the shade...

I'm pretty pleased. Top target was shots #3, #4, & #5.

The barrel was made by MGM on a blank I supplied. Blank was a Blackstar Accumax 1 cut rifled barrel.

Rog

Rickiesrevenge, the barrel is 16.5" long. Diameter is ~0.915" at the muzzle and ~0.850 across the flats.

Man that is one sexy gun. And looks like a winner on that first load. Keep us posted as you develop it. I am looking for a new barrel and that caliber might just do

Second trip to the range with the 30-338WM. Sorry about the poor quality pics.

A shot down range:

200 yds:

I'm like a kid in a candy store. 175 gr bullet at 2850 FPS. I'll take that. This thing essentially give me 300 WSM performance in an Encore compatible round.

Good shooting Rog! Looks like your ES is about the same with the 4831SC and the 4350...now to figure out if shot #2 was a flyer
\:\)

I plan on trying the Hybrid powder in my 6.5/284's - Fanucci and Doc were getting a substantial increase in velocity over the 4831 and H1000 without pressure signs. And accuracy was there too

I'm pretty sure I pulled that one.

Next trip I will confirm.

I'm planning on trying a couple of the newer powders like RL17. It never occurred to me to try the Hybrid. I'll look into it.

Good shooting Rog!
I run hybrid on one 6.5-284 and my 6.5-06 SP's (both 18")
The 6.5-06 with 140 A-Max's is smoking @ 2880.
I am going to back down that load
