I had mentioned in a previous thread, that I was looking into scoping my blackhawk 41 mag and I was curious what everyone's using in terms of a fixed power scope. I am looking for a 2x scope and have looked at leupold because I have other leupolds and love them. I also have nikons and the bushnell elite series but nothing in terms of pistol scopes.
What do you think leupold? Nikon? Thanks for the help and I must say I love this site!

I have a Leupold 2X on a Ruger Super Redhawk .454. The eye relief is good and the adjustments are dependable.

I like the Leupold stuff. That's the only scopes I use now. I like the longer eye relief, and even on my 460, I've never had it come out of zero.

in the 2x there are 3 I like, Leupold is at the top but Nikon is a close second and then Weavers are just plain solid scopes with good optics.

i like the 2x burris on my redhawk and bisley hunter. leupold i'm sure would satisfy also. i would have no trouble trying the weaver. the weaver has a larger objective lens which adds an appeal in looks to me, but maybe in a holster....it may not fit as well??

I use Leupold & Burris 2Xs. I prefer Leupold.
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

Leupold would be number one, but the 2x Nikon is clear, and has a really nice fine cross hairs that i like, especially for small game.

I have a Leupold 2X on a Ruger Super Redhawk .454. The eye relief is good and the adjustments are dependable. I have the exact same setup. Could agree more

I"m a Leupold guy, for a 2x I say Weaver, only because most 2x scopes are 20mm, the weaver is 28, it has a wider field of view and grabs more light.

I have/had them all, if money is not an issue get a used or new Leupold; life time warranty, regardless!

The best 2X scope is the Bushnell 2-6X Elite. Gotta leave yourslf some options. No reason being limited when other options are present.

i vote a leupold. i dropped my 41 magnum out of my tree this past deer season and it landed scop first. when i got to where i could shoot the gun to check zero it had not moved one bit. to me a used leupold is better than a new anything else. just my opinion.

Any reason you limit yourself to 2 power? I am with the wvhitman in that I like more scope. I have a 2x Leupold and it is OK to 50 yds for me, but past that I want more scope .The 2x6 Elite is the best of both worlds . For fixed powers I like a 4x and have never wanted less, or felt handicapped by the power.I have wanted more than 2x a lot of times.

Started with a 2X Leupold and as my shooting improved and distance got longer my need for higher scope magnification also increased. Today, a variable power sits atop my scoped hunting handguns...

Had a burris on my Lone Eagle. Had to send it back because the reticle failed. Got back a horridly repaired scope (no cost, but trashy looking). It failed.
Got a Leupold, never had a problem.
