Midway has blemished bullets in stock (appear to be Hornady) to include .44 240gr. XTP-appearing bullets...) Search "blemished" in the search bar on their site to pull them up.

I just bought some 44 mag 160 grainers from Midway that were some sort of special run from Sierra. No load data, so I improvised. Sierra said that they are not and will not be on their product line. I really don't like buying imperfect products, I guess this is where the market takes us.

I buy and use both Hornady and Nosler seconds on a regular basis. I use them in all my practice loads and the majority of my hunting loads. Unless you're after dangerous game, or shooting benchrest, it's doubtful that you'll ever notice the difference between seconds and firsts. Sometimes all that makes it a second is the wrong color plastic tip, a cannelure, etc. which surely doesn't affect function. Other times it might be an extra cannelure, or one in the wrong place, and those go to the practice pile. The decreased cost allows me to shoot that much more which will more than offset any extra variability the second might throw in the equation...JMO

Saw those 240's over on MW as well. If I was in need, I sure would be buying. A few years ago there was an outfit in southern AZ that sold Speer blems and/or overruns. I think I bought 5000 240gr. Speer SP's. I may not live long enough to get them all shot up.

I've used seconds for y-e-a-r-s and have had no problems what so ever.

I picked up a few , cause if the defication hits the rotate oscillator they will come in handy, also have used them in the past and they shoot just fine.

bobhanson, ordered some of the blemished .452/250gr polymer tip bullets four day`s ago. There was over $8.00 savings per box.... I bought some blemished .475/325gr. XTP bullets from Midway last year and the only thing wrong was a very small ding on the jacket.

Bought .429 XTP's, .500 XTP's, .257 Accubonds, .264 SST's and .338 Barnes.
Can't tell the differences on the XTP's and some of the "rifle" bullets have the wrong color tip...won't matter to paper or flesh!

I've bought many blemished bullets in the past. Last batch was a bunch of nosler ballistic tips. Had a cannelure in the wrong location.

I like taking advantage of "projectile dysfunction" specials.
I ordered 1000 of the .429 XTP's and I can't tell what the blemish is?

Same here, Darrel. I compared them to non-blemished and can't tell the difference.
