anyone have any experience with the S&W 22A? I'm starting to revert and going through a 22 phase again. I bought a Chiappa 1911-22 and I was looking for a Single 10 but picked up a new Single Six for an good price and now I'm thinking of either a 22/45 or MKIII but I came across the Smith and was curious.

never mind I found a NIB 5" 22/45 for 279.00 from a dealer in FL so I jumped on it. They also had a standard MKIII for 289.00 (299.00 buy now) but I prefer the bull barrel.

Rod, there is a place down here that has several MKIII's with bull barrels.

Thats a good score Rod. I find the 22/45 handle a much more natural angle for me.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Nice find on the 22/45. I do have a 22A in case anyone else is interested or if you come across a 22A in the future, they are nice guns. I got mine four years ago for $240 and have enjoyed it a lot. I have heard that they can be picky on ammo but the only ammo I've had any problems with is winchester bulk. Also the mag release button is in a spot that I haven't seen on any other handgun but I actually like its placement on the front of the grip. I know you have decided on another gun but just thought I would go ahead and give my opinion just in case.

that's great because although my toy shopping is over for the moment I will keept it in mind. I think the least expensive one they had was a buy now for 329.00 and I think the bidding started at 259.00 but there were no bids as of that time. The main reason I went ahead and jumped on the 22/45 is the availability of aftermarket parts. i've done several actions on them everywhere from just a nice hunting trigger to full match grade. You can also get everything from custom barrels to custom frames and bolts so it will give me something to play with for a while.
