Just got a GREAT deal on a 500 Wyoming Express in FA M83. I'd like to use Cast Performance bullets in 400gr LBT. Does Anyone have any favorite loads with this combo? I might start with H110 as I already have some now. Basically want an acuuacy load. Any Ideas, Guys?? Thanks!! - Matt

An accurate H110 load will be on the upper end, so keep that in mind. I believe that my 400 grain 296 loads in the .500 JRH (400 grain LBT WFN) were in the 31 grain range. I will have to see if I can figure out exactly what the load was. Congratulations on the score!

The .500WE is a great cartridge and certainly capable for any hunting on this earth if common sense and the correct bullets are used. My load with a 425 cast bullet was 28 gr. H-110. Here is my story of a muley buck that I shot through length-wise with that bullet: http://www.handgunhunt.com/promo/membership/features/readNewArticle.php?oid=28&title=.500 Muley Buck I also killed a nice horned doe antelope with that load which was no challenge at all for that heavy bullet. I've been using 16 grains of Longshot with a 425 LBT WFN-GC. Velocity runs around 1150 fps. Great round, good luck with it.

I ordered Cast Performance bullets in 400Gr.for this cartridge when I first brought the gun home because, Freedom Arms reccomends bullets in the 350gr-450gr range. I figured to settle right in the middle. I also won't be hunting anything bigger than whitetails, black bear or maybe a hog someday. Can you tell me why everyone seems to be leaning towards the 425gr bullet? I'm VERY curious. Did I make the wrong move?

I have used 400 grain bullets in my various .500 JRHs and they work really well too. I don't think you made any error, that is a great bullet you ordered. I have shot that one as well and it is accurate and lethal.

My son has some great accurate loads with longshot powder which ive been very happy with. Runs a 440 gr beartooth at mid 1200 fps range. Very good accuracy as well.
