Recently scored on WSF and Longshot in 8 pound containers, and would like to inquire if anyone has any favorite recipes for handgun cartridges. Published data for these powders for use in handgun cartridges is limited, and I thought perhaps some of you may be able to give me some guidance. I currently load pretty much everything from 9mm Luger on up to 50 AE(FA83). Would appreciate anything ya'll have to offer.

I've played with longshot in the 460 Rowland and I have 2k rounds of acp brass I scored on to reload once I get some more bullets and I'll probably use Longshot since I also scored on a 8# that.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

Longshot is my "go to" powder in the 10mm.

I too use it in my Rowland and 45 Super. It does show up as an intermediate powder for mid range 454's, much like HS6. While I have not used it in place of HS6, I have found it to behave very consistently in my 45Super & Rowlands with a pretty large swing in bullet weight and powder weight.

Another here with it in the .45 Super and .460 Rowland. I am going to experiment with it in the large frame (Ruger) .44 Special loads. I have plenty of data for the Rowland with it if you need it. reflex264

Thanks to all for the replies. I am loading for the 460 Rowland but haven't gotten past just trying to use up some Rem 185gr JHP's and AA2 powder, they've been in inventory for a number of years. I hadn't decided on a bullet for the Rowland and was following the other thread(s) to see what other shooters were using. I would appreciate whatever data you would like to pass along. I would also like to hear of your findings with the 44 spcl, as I have a S&W M624, FA M97, and a Ruger Flattop (Lipsey) in 44 Special.

Mech 8 just stay tuned. More to come with the Rowland and the .44 specials. Many more gents here shoot these great cartridges so info comes along fairly often. reflex264
