Finally had a chance to pick this up recently. Need a bigger backdrop, that's a big head!

This was at the High adventure ranch in SE Missouri. They have about 3,000 acres or maybe a little more and their own breeding herd there. I think it was upwards of about 200 head, maybe a little less. You can see them doing their thing and not couped up in a small area so it was nice. They are cool to see walking across one of the meadows at daybreak with the fog coming off the lake between you and them. Makes for a cool sight first thing in the morning.
Thanks guys, I always thought it would be neat to take one with a handgun. To see how hard a handgun slug hits an animal this size is pretty interesting. I wish I had it on video but it happened pretty quick at the end and there wasn't time. But to see how hard it hit at 50 yards and how fast within just a few seconds, he was down was pretty amazing.
Wife wants it in the living room. That was more shocking than watching the bull take the hit

Glenn, that's a beauty! One of two things are true here: 1. That's a giant bison skull 2. That's a very small axis deer it's on .........I'm put'n my money on (1).

It needs a teal blue kokopelli painted on it ;^)
Seriously, I am not a fan of european style mounts, but that one looks very nice.

GS,
Looks great! That's a big critter!
The Mrs has been accepting of the "exotic" game to be displayed prominently in the house...zebra rug, warthog skulls, etc get a pass, but the poor whitetails and turkeys are hidden away
The mouflon euro mount did make the grade, however!

Thanks guys, Mark, the guy that did it isn't too far from you down there in MO. I swung through on a trip about a week ago or so. He is in Salem, MO.....Looking around, he does really nice work and seemed like a really nice family when I've talked with them.

Glenn, Thanks for the info; I'll have to check him out. My taxidermist went south and I need a reliable source for euro mounts. Again, yours looks great. Congrats

Glenn, You already know what I think of your bison and 500 and where it should be posted but what I like to know is how you feel about High Adventure. When I hunted there with Doc Rogers and company I had a great time. We each had a separate lodge and I believe it was the owners Mom who did the good cooking. I took my blackbuck in that area and traveled to another where Doc took his stag. Big place...Sort of like Texas ranch with a lot more trees. What did you think of the place??

Nice place. One of a few that I've been able to really relax. Food is amazing. Mrs Dorothy does the cooking and its always on time Lots of animals and just plain fun. I would love to meet with some of you there. Would be fun to just hang out. Shooting a piggie is just icing on cake
